Pipeline Egypt losses for Jordan

The failure of supply of gas from Egypt after the bomb attack Saturday against a gas pipeline to Jordan cost losses of 3.5 million dollars a day, said a Jordanian official told AFP.After the attack, Egyptian authorities have cut supplies to two pipes of the pipeline, one delivering gas to Jordan and one in Israel. "This cut will cost Jordan $ 3.5 million (loss) per day, for the kingdom will replace the fuel gas and fuel oil to run power stations in the country, " the official said under cover of anonymity.
"The Egyptian gas covers 80% of the electricity needs of Jordan" which imports 6.8 million cubic meters of gas per day from Egypt, he said.

He said to expect the delivery of gas to Jordan "resume within three to four days. "
