Evgeni Malkin under the knife

What had to happen will happen Thursday at Pittsburgh.
Suffered a serious right knee injury Friday, Evgeni Malkin will undergo surgery to repair anterior cruciate ligament and medial. His recovery time is estimated at a minimum of six months. It should be restored in time for the next training camp.
The Penguins also have to cope without Sidney Crosby since Jan. 6.
Their record is 8-4-0-1 without Crosby while their case without Malkin, who missed five games before returning to competition and falling again in combat, is 4-3-0-0.

The Penguins will they be able to continue the fight with the Philadelphia Flyers for the title of their division and the championship of their association, or will they now watch their backs to make sure of being playoffs?
