Influenza persists in France and now affects 21 regions. The worst affected are the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (1137 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), the Center (814) and the Rhone-Alpes (738) according to the network of sentinel physicians.Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 remains dominant throughout the country. The average age is 16 years. In addition, 50% of cases are male.
Regional Groups Observation Influenza (GROG) estimate that 724,000 cases of influenza in a little more than a million GP consultations. Despite the peak last week, a slight decline of the epidemic is expected this week.
