Canucks: A long absence Edler

VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alexander Edler back surgery and will miss an indefinite period of play. The CEO of the Canucks, Mike Gillis, said Thursday that the decision had been taken after consultation with team doctors.Edler did not participate in the Canucks' 2-1 victory against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday because of back spasms.
