WASHINGTON - U.S. President Barack Obama met Saturday with his national security council to take stock of the situation in Egypt and urged again the power to implement reforms and to show restraint towards protesters, said the White House.Besides Bush, the one-hour meeting was attended by Vice President Joe Biden, the national security adviser for Barack Obama, Tom Donilon, and senior officials responsible for security issues and foreign affairs, said the White House in a statement.
"The president was informed of the latest developments of the situation in Egypt, "said the White House.
Obama reiterated "the opposition (U.S.) to violence" and reiterated his call "for restraint, support universal human rights and to support concrete measures that will advance political reform in Egypt" , said the American presidency.
