Carnival kicks off with political flavor

(Quebec), the 57th presentation of the Quebec Winter Carnival opened on Friday night under the fireworks and the rock hits performed by Sylvain Cossette.
Unable probably not resist the appeal of the festival, the mayor Régis Labeaume, who had initially indicated that he could be present, accompanied Bonhomme to give the kickoff of the festival.
"I think it is a beautiful natural amphitheater here, " Mr. Labeaume launched, addressing the crowd. Then the mayor fired an arrow at the Conservative government, saying he would ask Bonhomme "how to meet some people. "

Stephen Harper had received Bonhomme in Ottawa in November, when the mayor tried unsuccessfully to meet with the Prime Minister.
