Andy Fantuz crosses the U.S. border. The Ontarians 27 years leaves the Saskatchewan Roughriders for joining the Chicago Bears.
Fantuz has signed a contract with the NFL team said Friday.
Last season, catcher native of Chatham led the CFL with 1,380 yards by air. Fantuz also won six touchdowns, statistics that earned him the title of the best Canadian player. No Maple Leaf had dominated the league in passing yards since Dave Sapunjis in 1995.
He helped the Riders to go to the Grey Cup against the Alouettes.
Fantuz also discussed last year the opportunity to continue his NFL career, but he chose to return to the West. He was given until February 16 to find buyers in the United States.
